In this era
of sophisticated technology, the methodology used to study exercise
science is becoming increasingly more accurate. For this reason
I believe that it is important for fitness professionals to stay
up to date on the latest research in exercise science. It is equally
important that fitness programs contain variety and excitement,as
a means of preventing burn-out for participant and professional.
I adhere to
my philosophy by attending a minimum of 6 conferences and workshops
a year. Although research is important, professionals must remember
that it is general, and your responsibility is first and foremost,
to the individual.
Even in group
exercise, it is important that I observe individual needs and differences
and cater to them by offering variations, modifications and alternatives.
Fortunately, having over 26 years experience in the industry has
given me the opportunity to work with people of all ages, shapes,
size and capabilities, thus creating an entire repertoire of variations
for every participant.
