Here are some
of my favorite fitness sites. You may find me posting on these sites'
webboards and discussions - look for lisa@lisafitness.com,
lisa@mercers.com, Lisamer, Lisamarie, or aerobigal
- they're all me! But be sure to check out my own Message
Boards too, right here at LisaFitness.
Links will open
in a new browser window, for ease of exploring from my site.
Asimba.com
has information on all sorts of sports and fitness. You can sign
up for a personal fitness program, log your health and fitness activities,
get a variety of e-mail lists and workout reminders. You even can
hook your fitness log into your Palm PDA using Avantgo
- and log your workouts at the gym on your Palm. Next time you hotsync,
it's on your private web log. Don't forget LisaFitness-to-go
on your Palm too, if you're setting up Avantgo.
I've checked
out NetSweat
- another great Fitness site. They've got a Fitness
Instructor FAQ,you may want to read if you're considering becoming
an instructor. They've re-aimed their site, so there isn't as much
general fitness iinfo as before, but it's still good.
Another good
site is WebAerobics.
They offer free aerobics-related webpages for qualified aerobics
instructors and physical trainers, and an Aerobics WebRing. You
can find
instructors and trainers by region.
Turnstep.com
has good resources and choreography for instructors.
My favorite
ski boards are Paula's
Ski Lovers for a very welcoming, virtual ski lodge feeling,
and EpicSki.com
for its very active and specialized Barking
Bear Forums. Includes a forum just for Ski Instruction-related
discussions, between serious ski students and many PSIA-certified
instructors.
Lots of good
outdoor adventure sports links at MountainZone.
Skiing, boarding, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, adventure.
Sometimes "fitness"
is more than just physical health - if you're a woman in crisis,
in recovery, or just in need of inspiration, visit my friend Mary's
Women's
Christian Outreach recovery and support organization - welcome
to all ages and faiths.
I'm often at
Phys - the Fitness
and Lifestyle site run by the Conde-Nast family of magazines, including
Self.
Check out iVillage
- the Women's Network ; especially their "Gym
Rats" board! I've also mentioned their pregnancy-related
boards and resources at my Pregnancy
Resources page.
Drop me a line
if you have a suggestion, or if you have a site you'd like me to
link with. Enjoy exploring Fitness on the Web!
