News:
I've relocated to Colorado's mountains!
If you'll
be in Summit County, Colorado for the four-season outdoor recreation
opportunities, visit Mountain
Sport Pilates & Fitness for your ski/snow-sports conditioning
dryland training, and for post-ski, ride, run, or bike "body
tune-ups".
I have several
articles published. Members of the PSIA and the National
Ski Patrol have my "Cut to the Core" article in your Fall
2003 issue of your professional journals. It should be available
on their site archives soon. Also, I had a article for ePregnancy
Magazine & ePregnancy.com, and another published in Pregnancy
Magazine, on your newstand in May 2004. My "Keep In Balance
Like Bode" article on ski fitness and balance is in the Spring
2005 issue of The Professional Skier for you PSIA members.
I'm now the
Skiing
Correspondent for All
Info About, a network of websites presenting the best
of the web. I also have my first
fiction piece published, a serialized e-book novel set in
the ski country of Colorado, with romance, intrigue, and a cast
of characters that you could only find in the mountains.
Visit my SkiReady site for more about my dryland
training workshops, and the presentations I do for EpicSki Academy.
Please read
my feature article on Functional
Sports Conditioning.
It covers the latest methods for improving sports performance. And
the Ski Shop is Open! Get equipment for getting and staying
in shape for winter sports at SkiFitness.Biz.
Please visit
my specialty sites: Pilates.Info
(one of the new Internet .Info names.) In addition to the Pilates
background and information about my classes here
at LisaFitness, I've started Pilates.Info as a resource
for the entire Pilates community. I've already added links to several
of the major schools, equipment manufacturers, and certification
organizations, to give people a central web resource to learn about
the many facets of Pilates.
Another of my
specialty sites - The latest in Ski Conditioning and Ski Fitness
is at
www.Ski-Fitness.Net - my site specifically for getting and staying
in shape for skiing! And specific information about my SkiReady
classes is at SkiReady.Info!
Here at LisaFitness.com
you'll find information on general fitness, with a special focus
on the specialties which I teach, including Pre-natal
fitness, Pilates-based training, and
Resist-a-ball. Check out my latest
additions of Pilates book and video recommendations
here! My Books page has my favorite learn-to-ski
books and videos available! And visit my Sports
page for information about skiing and winter sports conditioning,
and recommendations on where to learn to ski.
Get the latest
Fitness & Health News right here at LisaFitness.com,
from some of the best health and general news sites on the Web.
Headlines update throughout the day, so visit often. (Note:
most off-site links will open in a new browser window so you can
enjoy them while still visiting my site.)

Want to talk
about your fitness questions, adventure and sports travels, or anything
fitness-related? One place you can do this is on my LisaFitness
Message Boards - talk about your winter
sports, fitness, and adventure travel at my
General Interest Board, or discuss ski instruction and specific
training techniques with professionals at my
Instructors Board. Fitness instructors and sports coaches and
trainers all welcome there! For general Fitness discussions, talk
about clubs, workouts, and participatory sports, drop into my
Fitness Board. Of course you can post about summer plans and
getting in shape for the beach, mountain biking, hiking and camping,
and all the great warm-weather things too.
If you're looking
for a ski-specific board, I'm a regular at EpicSki.com,
taking part in their
Barking Bear Forums. You'll find many of my Ski Fitness tips
in threads there - look for Lisamarie. If you want to talk
skiing in general, EpicSki is a great place. Another good ski board
is the virtual ski house at Paula's
Ski Lovers. A lot of advanced skiers and ski instructors hang
out at both sites, as well as beginners and intermediates, so discussions
are fun and lively.
Check out my
workout in the nationally-known health and fitness magazine, Natural
Health Magazine, from their July/August 2000 issue! My ball-based
"Strengthen Your Center" abs workout was their fitness
cover feature. It's still posted on their website, and you may
be able to order a back issue. Want your own stability ball for
doing this workout at home? Buy one at my Fitness
Shop!
Take
my site with you on your PalmOS handheld, using the AvantGo
LisaFitness
Channel!
Works on all Palm
and Visor
handhelds, not just the wireless VII. Also works on most WindowsCE
handhelds.
Here's a Guest
Column by my friend and colleague Kathryn Zaitz, about Spinning.
Be sure to read about it here!
I'll be publishing additional guest columns from time to time, so
if you have an idea for one, e-mail
me or drop a line in my guestbook.
If you're a fitness professional, why not consider writing one?
I'll be adding
new and timely health, fitness, and participatory sports info whenever
I can. Look for guest columns by other experts in fitness specialties,
including some of the ones I don't teach myself, such as Spinning
or kick-boxing.
I'd love for
you to sign my Guestbook
or drop me an email and
leave your suggestions. Please
bookmark this site and visit often. And please visit my Personal
site which has additional fitness information, including more
of my background, more on my certifications, and where I teach.
Plus my other interests, including helping another type of athlete,
the retired racing
greyhound!
Also you can
view RealVideo excerpts of coverage by Boston's Channel 7
News on my Prenatal classes.
If you're near
Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland Ski Basin, Copper
Mountain, or Vail, I hope I see you in a class soon! And I'd love
to hear from you about your ideas for this site. Whether you're
a fitness professional or a participant, I welcome you and hope
you make my site a regular stop on your web workout circuit!
